On Monday 21 March, the Chief Minister addressed UK Parliamentarians at a meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Channel Islands.
The meeting – held in parallel with a meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Isle of Man – was chaired by Andrew Rosindell MP, and brought together MPs and Peers from across the political spectrum, united by their interest in the Channel Islands.
In respect of the situation in Ukraine, the Chief Minister provided an update on Jersey’s provision of humanitarian assistance, and the Government of Jersey’s swift actions – in lockstep with the UK – to impose economic sanctions against the Russian regime. He went on to discuss the continuing relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions in Jersey, progress in licensing EU fishing vessels, and plans for Liberation Day events this year.
The Chief Minister concluded by thanking the All-Party Parliamentary Group for its continued interest in, and support for, the Island in Parliament. The next meeting is expected to take place in the summer.
