The Romanian Ambassador to the UK, His Excellency Mr Dan Mihalache, will visit Jersey from 18 to 20 March 2018.
During his visit, the Ambassador will attend a reception at the Town Hall on 18 March to welcome the appointment of Jersey’s first Honorary Consul for Romania, Mrs Andreea Ghisoi. He will also meet the Bailiff, Sir William Bailhache, the Chief Minister, Senator Ian Gorst, and the Minister for External Relations, Senator Sir Philip Bailhache. He will stay at Government House as the guest of the Lieutenant Governor, His Excellency Sir Stephen Dalton.
Senator Bailhache commented “I look forward to welcoming the Ambassador to Jersey and to joining him in officially marking the appointment of the Island’s first Honorary Consul for Romania. I am sure that the Ambassador’s visit, as well as the ongoing work of the Honorary Consul, will help to develop cultural and commercial links between Jersey and Romania, and underline the importance of the small Romanian community in Jersey.”
The Ambassador’s itinerary will also include a visit to the Jersey War Tunnels, meetings with finance industry representatives, and a dinner hosted by the Bailiff.
